The woman took home about $800 as part of a syndicate involving about 60 people, sharing a $50,000 division two win.

She was spotted by the Sunrise camera crew as they were visiting the Rosebery North Newsagency, where a different Sydney syndicate of 10 lucky punters had bought their division one-winning ticket.

“Let me just do this properly,” she said before waving her prize money in the air.

“Look at that! Winning, winning, winning, winning.”

A Victorian mum was one of two division one winners, taking home $50 million — with a ticket she purchased online at the last minute.

The woman, from Melton, vowed to spend her winnings on her children.

She was the lucky holder of one of the two division one-winning entries in Powerball draw 1420.

However, her contact details were incorrect, meaning she didn’t realise she was successful until Friday morning.

She received the news while at work and couldn’t contain her excitement.

“I can’t believe this,” she said. “What a dream come true.”

Aussie scores $2.58m lotto prize with ticket she didn’t buy

This Sydney mum won $2m lotto prize. Here’s why it took her weeks to claim it

She told Lotto she had no idea about the win and had just gone to work as normal.

Her colleagues supported her as the news broke, clapping and cheering for her.

The woman told Lotto she had purchased the ticket right before the draw closed

“This is absolutely life-changing,” she said. “This will help me look after my kids.”

“My kids mean the world to me, and I’ll be able to set them up for the future.”

The woman purchased her ticket online via OzLotteries.

The other division one winner in Powerball draw 1420 was the 10-member NSW syndicate who had purchased their ticket at the Rosebery newsagency.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1420 on Thursday 3 August 2023 were 13, 7, 18, 1, 23, 25 and 33. The all-important Powerball number was 7.

The Lott’s division one-winning tally has now reached 242 so far in 2023.

In 2022, 22 Powerball division one-winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $764.39 million in prize money.

During this time, Powerball offered a $160 million jackpot — the biggest prize ever offered by any Australian lottery game — that was won by three division one-winning entries.

Of the 22 Powerball division one-winning entries in 2022, 13 landed in NSW, four in Victoria, two each in Queensland and Western Australia, and one in South Australia.
