Oz Lotto has revealed the lucky Aussie suburbs with the most division one lottery wins in 2023 ahead of Tuesday night’s $50 million draw.

Data collected by The Lott from January to November 30 this year from across the country revealed there were 456 division one winning entries, resulting in more than $1.32 billion in prize money.

New South Wales was named the luckiest state with the most division one wins and also the most prize money, with 122 wins worth more than $450 million.

This included one New South Wales winner scoring a whopping $100 million Powerball prize in June 2023, becoming the second-biggest individual lottery winner in Australian history.

“From Stratford in Far North Queensland to Strahan in Tasmania … Brisbane in Queensland to Busselton in Western Australia, hundreds of Aussies across the country have experienced the indescribable thrill of a division one win this year,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said in a media release.

“In recent months, we’ve seen a steady stream of Australians become Oz Lotto division one winners, which is why the jackpot hasn’t climbed too high … until now.

“The last time we saw a $50 million Oz Lotto prize was in October last year. In fact, we have to travel as far back as 2019 before we see Oz Lotto offer a jackpot above $50 million. That’s why we expect to see keen interest in this Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw.

“Some players tell us they deliberately pick outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won’t strike twice.”
